My relaxing weekend in Tempe, Arizona
We're into the 2nd month of the year and I have already visited a handful of new places and I'm so excited to share them with you!
Tempe is a lively wellness focused town in Arizona- close to Scottsdale and Phoenix- full of beautiful nature, hikes, lake activities, and healthy cafes. It was fun walking around Mill Ave. and people watching especially at night when the streets filled up with people, movable bike bars, lights, and music.
We stayed at AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown hotel, located right along Tempe Town lake. Score! The hotel was really fresh and modern with a great gym and rooftop pool with views of the city and lake. The short 1 minute walk to the lake was so convenient! We rented a kayak and a bike car from Tempe Boat Rentals and had so much fun riding up and down the lake. It ended up being a really good workout too!
One of the my favorite things to do while traveling is finding the healthy spots and cute cafes : P There are so many options in Tempe! Pita Jungle, The Original Chopshop co.. The Crepe Bar, Top of the Rock, Desert Roots etc. to name a few.
The Crepe Bar offers delicious crepes made fresh to order using seasonal ingredients from local farms. There are GF, V options too. I ordered one savory vegetable crepe and one sweet charred banana foster crepe- It was just as delicious as it looks:)!
Postino Annex located on College Ave. was also another favorite. They are known for their bruschetta - so of course I went a little overboard and tried 4 different ones. Yum!
My favorite hike was at Pima Canyon at South Mountain Park/Preserve - they offer multiple trails depending on how far you want to go. Ian and I went off course and climbed some pretty steep rocks to get to the top and it was so worth it.
Overall I was so happy that we got to explore Tempe and enjoy each other's company while being so active! It's rare for Ian and I to workout/ hike together so this was so fun for a change and I can't wait to be back!
With love,
