4 Ways to Make a Matcha Latte
As you guys know I stopped drinking coffee 9 months ago so matcha is one of my go-to drinks every morning. I've been drinking matcha since I was young so I love the strong/ bitter taste! Nowadays matcha is everywhere in the form of lattes which makes it much easier to drink and actually tastes really really good.
Matcha in its pure form is a concentrated + potent version of green tea. It's rich in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins and studies have even shown it to boost metabolism and lower inflammation in the body. Matcha also contains 3X as more caffeine than green tea so that's also a plus.
I make 3 different versions and they all taste great so you can choose depending on what you have in the kitchen. Matcha Latte 1 is the most basic and the others include add-ons like coconut butter, ghee, and adaptogens. Personally I've been making Matcha Latte 2 recently and it's sooooo good UGH.
Matcha Latte 1
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp maple syrup
*note: because this recipe doesn't have collagen, the latte will not come out as frothy : P
Matcha Latte 2
1 tsp ghee butter
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp light coconut milk canned
1 scoop Vital proteins coconut creamer
Matcha Latte 3
1 scoop Vital proteins matcha collagen
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp coconut butter or adaptogenic coconut butter
Matcha Latte 4 (ICED)
1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha
1 tsp coconut butter
dash of cinnamon
ADD 2 tbsp of hot water and use a bamboo whisk and mix well
Next pour over a glass of ice and add 1 cup OAT MILK (currently my FAV) or almond milk!
METHOD:
For all recipes, heat 2 cups almond milk over the stove and remove from heat before it starts to boil. Once heated, pour it into a blender and add the rest of the ingredients. Blend on high speed until frothy and enjoy immediately!
