Beef Bulgogi
Ingredients:
1 lb ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced across the grain
1/4 small onion, sliced super thin
2 green onions, chopped (separate white + green)
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp grated pear or apple (adds that signature sweetness + tenderizes)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar (or honey)
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp gochujang (optional but adds depth)
Black pepper
Neutral oil for cooking
Sesame seeds (for topping)
Cooked white rice, for serving
Step by step:
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, grated pear or apple, gochujang, and a pinch of black pepper.
Add beef + thin onion slices. Let it sit 20 mins (or up to 24 hrs in the fridge if you’re planning ahead).
Heat a pan over medium-high with a splash of oil. Add marinated beef (in batches if needed for a good sear). Stir-fry until caramelized and cooked through—about 2–3 minutes.
Finish with green onion tops + sesame seeds
Serve over hot rice. Add kimchi, sliced green onion, and seaweed salad ! ENJOY!
