dutch baby apple puff pancake
Ingredients:
1 honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced (I used a mandoline)
1 tbsp brown sugar
6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
4 eggs
2/3 cups whole milk
2/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp kosher salt
Cinnamon Butter Maple Syrup
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Step by step:
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees
In a medium cast iron skillet place ¾ of the sliced apples covering the bottom and 4 tbsp butter and brown sugar on top!
Bake for 10 minutes
Add the rest of ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth!
Once 10 minutes is up- pour your batter straight into the skillet and put back into the oven for 17 minutes!
While the pancake is baking - make the cinnamon butter maple syrup!
In a saucepan - bring the maple syrup, butter, and cinnamon to a boil then reduce to medium low heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla ! Serve warm on top of the pancake and I topped mine off with greek yogurt and granola! Enjoy!
