Hey Guys!

Is it just me or does it feel like it became winter over a single weekend?! I will admit though, it’s nice to not be fighting over the A/C since the boyfriend runs hot and I’m always cold :P. Anyway, colder weather to me means lots of layers, knits, couch cuddles, and warm matchas, but also taking steps to support my immune system. So, here are a few things I’m doing to transition from Summer to Winter!

Drink Warm Water and Drinks

Now that the mornings and nights are starting to cool down, I like to switch my usual cold drinks to hot ones! When you drink hot drinks, specifically water, it aids in digestion helping you break down food a lot faster. Warm drinks raise your body temperature causing the body to sweat and expeltoxins and clear the pores so it’s detoxifying as well. I’ve also been adding a squeeze of lemon in my matcha to help internally cleanse and reboot my system. Surprisingly, it also makes it taste good!

Take Gummies With Vitamin-C

I’ve been loving taking gummies to support my immune system, specifically the Emergen-C Energy+ range Zest Gummies. Not only is it easy to take on the go and tastes good, but it’s packed with 25 mg of Vitamin C, three B vitamins, and antioxidants, zinc and manganese which help you feel more focused and help revitalize your body. I love that this one also contains caffeine from Green Tea as well to help energize you to tackle your day. I take 2 gummies every morning with my probiotic and matcha before I tackle my day!

Eat Seasonal Foods

Y’all know that I am a HUGE foodie! And when it comes to fruits and veggies, I love being in sync with the seasons. So when winter comes around I LOVE going to the farmers market to pick out the freshest seasonal produce. Some of my favorites that Nate and I love to add to our mush bowls are sweet potatoes, figs, mushrooms, and pears! Some of the benefits of eating seasonal are that the flavors are much richer and deeelicious, which also make them jam-packed with nutrients. It’s also more cost-effective because produce in season is more abundant, so it is less per pound in the store. Even adding one or two seasonal items will improve your nutrient intake, and help save you money!

Take a Hike!

GUYS, hiking in Autumn is SOOOO much more refreshing than hiking in Summer! Since the weather is cooler the air is crisper and you’re able to trek more comfortably with a few layers. I recently discovered a hidden gem…it’s called Ascot hills Park ( and yes it’s dog friendly)! The trail is usually super quiet and it makes for a nice getaway from the city whenever I need it. I pack plenty of water and EmergenC gummies along with to whenever I need a boost of energy.

Change Up Your Skincare Routine

Cooler, dry weather = Higher chances of developing skin concerns and for me that’s lizard texture
and extreme DRY skin. Around this time of year, I change up my routine to include hydrating serums
with hyaluronic acid in them and richer moisturizers. This also goes hand in hand with making sure
I’m well hydrated and eating a healthy real food diet with lots of fruits and veggies. Another important thing I can’t live without in the colder months is lip balm! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and would love to hear how you’re making the transition to Winter with a healthy gut and immune system in mind!
