Mexico Trip Recap! The Royal Suites Punta de Mita
Ever since I had my first taste of Mexico back in October, I could not wait to be back! There's something so raw, colorful and charming about it that brings me such happy feelings! And lucky for me, I was able to have another trip - with Ian! - to Mexico in February.
We stayed at The Royal Suites Punta de Mita by Palladium in Riviera Nayarit for a wellness immersion trip. Mexico + a resort that focuses on wellness and healthy, happy living? You guys know this is right up my alley! Plus, the resort is all-inclusive, so it made things so effortless. It was such a treat to escape the cold, rainy weather in Los Angeles and be in paradise for 4 days.

It was our first Valentine's Day we actually celebrated since we've been together for 4 years & we were both SO excited to relax, unwind from our busy lives and spend some quality time together. Not to mention the staff went above and beyond with some super sweet surprises to make our day even more special. Think bed in breakfast and a surprise bubble bath sprinkled with flower petals with candles and chocolates. Even the towels were folded in a heart shape! <3
Day 1
The first night, we were surprised with a tequila tasting at sunset overlooking the water. It was a breathtaking setting and we learned a few things about tequila, mezcal, and ways to drink it. After about 6 shots, we were dancing and learning how to salsa with the staff, lol. Too much fun.
We also learned more about the resort, thanks to the staff. They informed us that close by, you can go off-road adventuring, explore islands, swim with dolphins, whale watch, etc., so it got us really pumped for our days there! Sayulita - a cool, colorful, relaxed surf town with bohemian shops lined and delicious foods was also just a 30 min drive away, so we of course went there and explored on our last day.
Day 2
The next morning we started the day early with breakfast and fresh green juice at Restaurant Mita overlooking the ocean. Whale watching was on the agenda and we were SO excited!
It was a quick drive to Vallarta Adventures from the resort. I didn't have my hopes up because I didn't want to be disappointed if we didn't see a humpback. I mean, how many people can say they've seen one in the wild in it's natural element?! We took a comfortable, inflatable speed boat out to the ocean and guess what!? Mama humpback whale and baby jumping out of the ocean for 20 minutes straight!!!
Apparently the mom also had another female humpback, known as an 'escort' as extra protection from predators for the baby. It was such a sight to see!! Especially when they’d do a full dive into the ocean and we could see their beautiful tails. The opportunity to see mama teaching her baby how to jump was one I'll remember for a lifetime.
We ended the day with a traditional Mexican dinner at Viva Mexico restaurant on the resort. It was such a delicious surprise to see the guacamole made fresh right in front of you. I’m still craving it, lol!
Day 3
The following day I ran around the resort and spent the rest of the morning hanging at the beach and scoping out the 4 pools on the property. The resort offers water excursions such as Catamaran, surfing, paddle boarding, but it was nice to be beach bums for a few hours. We did finally leave the resort to have a delicious seafood lunch nestled in the cutest neighborhood, where there were platters of lobsters and crabs for us to choose from and eat. mMmm
When we came back to the resort, we enjoyed ‘The Zenropia Experience’ which was their spa with a water garden, saunas, and steam rooms. Ian and I both had a relaxing deep-tissues couple massage.
At sunset we did a Restorative Yoga class on the beach overlooking the Pacific. We did the most relaxing flow and felt so renewed after. That plus the massage had us feeling pretty much feeling the best~~
Our farewell dinner was at Portofino’s Restaurant on the beach on the resort and we had a delicious selection of Mediterranean cuisine and wine. Ian and I went to bed so restored, relaxed, and happy.
We headed back to LA the next day feeling SO good! The wellness mentality of the resort was truly amazing, and it was nice to stay active while relaxing too!
Until next time loves!
