Summer Japanese Dinner
Somen Noodles:
Somen noodles (cook according to package)
Ice
Dipping Sauce:
1/2 cup sake
1 1/8 mirin
1 cup soy sauce
1 piece kombu
1 cup bonito flakes
Step by step:
In a saucepan, combine sake, mirin, and soy sauce
Add kombu and bonito flakes, slowly bring to a boil
Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, sieve it through fine mesh and enjoy!
Cucumber Salad w/ Umeboshi & Tomato:
Cucumber, sliced
1 tomato, quartered
Dipping Sauce
Tofu w/ Natto and Egg Yolk
Soft tofu (I use House Foods brand)
Egg yolk
Green onion
