Natto Omelette Recipe
Hi Guys!
I have been OBSESSED with this natto omelette lately and I wanted to share it with you all!
If you don’t know, natto is a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans. It’s definitely an acquired taste, but I love it! The texture is somewhat stringy and gooey and some say the smell is pretty unpleasant, but to me it’s similar to soy sauce. Natto has a whole list of benefits for your health including:
Probiotic food
Improves immune system
Improves digestion
Improves blood flow
High in protein
Rich in vitamins and minerals
Improves bone health
I would definitely consider it a superfood and it’s something I love adding into my daily diet!
I buy my natto from the Japanese market, Mitsuwa!
Here’s how to make my natto omelette
INGREDIENTS
1 pack of natto
Kimchi (to taste)
2 eggs
Handful of spinach
1 slice of bacon
1 tsp ghee butter
HOW TO MAKE
When you first open up a pack of natto, you’ll see a small packet of dashi broth. Uncover the natto and pour the dashi broth on top. Mix well until you get a stringy texture!
Next, slice the bacon into bite sized pieces and wash your spinach. Crack your eggs and scramble in a bowl.
Heat up a pan on medium heat and add 1 teaspoon of ghee butter. Move the pan around and make sure the whole surface is covered so that your omelette doesn’t stick!
Once the pan is hot, add the bacon slices and cook until golden brown. Add your spinach and saute until it’s wilted.
Pour your eggs in and lower the temperature to medium low. Carefully move the egg around so that it cooks fully.
Add kimchi into the omelette if you’re feeling it or eat it on the side!
Once the eggs are cooked to your liking, place the natto into the omelette on one side. Slide the omelette onto your plate and fold the side without the natto over!
Aaand that’s it! Hope you guys try this out!
