Miso Pork Rice Bowl
Ingredients:
3/4 lb ground pork
1 knob ginger, grated
1/2 green onion
1 tbsp sesame oil
4 tbsp white miso paste
3 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp sake
2 tbsp water
2 tsp potato or corn starch
Step by step:
Grate ginger and chop half of the green onion into small pieces
In a small bowl, combine mirin, sake, and soy sauce, mix
Then add water and potato/corn starch, and mix til it’s fully combined
Heat a saucepan over medium heat, when it is hot add sesame oil and chopped green onion
Once you can smell the green onion, add the ground pork and break it up
Add the grated ginger and cook the meat til it is no longer pink
Then add the miso and sugar and mix well
Once combined, pour in your sauce and cook on medium-low heat
When the liquid is reduced to your liking, turn off the heat and serve over a bed of rice with a side of your favorite greens and a onsen egg! Enjoy!
